The second season of Netflix’s women-in-prison drama Orange is the New Black is currently in production, and it appears that a set from the show is the scene of an actual crime.
A thief reportedly made off with over $4K in cables, which had been laying on the ground outside of a Park Slope church in Brooklyn where they were shooting. Leslie Albrecht at DNAinfo New York reports:
The Netflix hit series “Orange is the New Black” had just wrapped up a TV shoot in front of Grace United Methodist Church on Seventh Avenue and St. John’s Place on Oct. 30, when it was hit by a thief, according to police.
Even as a private security guard was keeping watch, somebody managed to swipe more than $4,000 in five-wire banded cables from the set, police said. The area was open to the public and the cables were laying on the ground, according to the police report.
One thing is apparent. Red and her people are not happy.
