Mick Jagger will have a new title this coming year…great-grandpa!

Jagger’s granddaughter, Assisi Jackson, will be giving birth to her first child sometime in 2014 (a due date has not been announced), and will be making the 70-year-old rocker a great-grandfather. The babies father is 25-year-old chef, Alex Key.

Jackson is currently 20-years-old, but will be 21 when she gives birth. She says that it is not uncommon for the women in her family to have children at a young age.

“The women in our family just tend to have children young, it runs in the genes,” said Assisi. “I grew up quite quickly and wouldn’t have considered having a child if I was doing what my friends are doing at this stage, messing around,” added Assisi. “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke and I’m very settled.”

Jackson’s mom and Jagger’s daughter, Jade Jagger, is very happy and supportive of her daughter and says she knows that she will make a good mother.

“She’ll be a perfect mum,” said Jade. “Assisi is a level-headed, sweet girl and I think it will give them both a lot of pleasure. It gives you an amazing purpose in life, to fulfill nature’s destiny.”

Jade also says that her father has not really made a big deal about becoming a great-grandfather. He is already a father to seven children, and four grandchildren, so adding a great-grandchild will not be much of a transition.

“I think making Mick a grandfather obviously had a big impact, whereas, now making him a great grandfather is no longer particularly fascinating,” said Jade.
