It’s official, you guys. Netflix’s hit original series House of Cards will be back for its second season on Valentine’s Day, 2014.
That means that season two comes just over a year after the show premiered its first season (February 1st, 2013). Netflix’s official House of Cards Twitter account just tweeted out this simple message: 02.14.14.

Oh yeah, and a teaser –
A few weeks ago, we told you that filming on the second season was just about to wrap.
Will the second season be the final season? Well, that’s still up in the air. Earlier this year, one of the show’s producers suggested that House of Cards would probably be a two-and-done series. But Netflix’s content chief Ted Sarandos recently said that a season three may happen after all.
“Our intent is that the show keep going for sure. It was a 26-episode commitment. It was not our intent that it just run for two seasons…talks are in progress right now, so stay tuned,” he said at Film Independent’s annual confab back in October.
If House of Cards did end its run after just two seasons, it wouldn’t be for lack of popularity or critical acclaim. Not only did the show give Netflix a few Emmys, but the show seems to have played a big part in Netflix’s success over the past year.
