Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres found some unlikely inspiration for creating a memorable Christmas card for the 2013 season. In light of the popularity Kanye West’s Bound 2 video (the one starring a topless Kim Kardashian) has generated, Portia and Ellen have unveiled their Christmas card.

During a recent appearance on her television show, Ellen explained the underlying motivation, though done in jest, about the card inscribed, “Bound for a Merry Christmas” in reference to the title of the attention-grabbing video. “Well people have been talking about the Kardashian’s card so much, Portia and I did a card this year and it’s based on…it was actually inspired by Kim and Kanye’s music video, if you saw it,” Ellen said.

Ellen and Portia are not the first celebrities to recreate their own version of the Bound 2 music video. James Franco and Seth Rogen, popular comedian and actors who are well-known for their friendship both on and off the screen, starred in a unique adaptation of the video just weeks earlier that garnered quite a bit of interest. The Franco-Rogen spoof became so popular that both Kim Kardashian and Kanye West even shared their opinions. However, for the time being, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have not spoken about the Christmas card (courtesy of Portia and Ellen) inspired from their famous-and-routinely-spoofed video.
