The Houston Texans are looking for a head coach to replace Gary Kubiak who was fired on Friday. Rumors have been circulating that former Super Bowl winning coach, Jon Gruden, is the number one candidate for the job. However, Gruden confirms that he will be staying with ESPN as their sports analyst, at least through the 2014 season.

“I’m just trying to do my job,” Gruden said. “I’m not going to address every little rumor or supposed conversation that takes place, according to these so-called sources. There are a lot of good coaches out there available to coach these teams. I’m just hoping ESPN likes the the job I’m doing. That’s my focus.”

Gruden has worked as the “Monday Night Football” analyst on ESPN since 2009. Gruden previously served as the coach for the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his time as a coach, he compiled a 95-81 record in 11 seasons. He also reached the playoffs five times and led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl title.

There are several other candidates that the Texans reportedly will be looking into as their head coach including: Lovie Smith, Mike Shanahan, Ken Whisenhunt, and Tom Cable.
