A winner of the recent Powerball drawing has yet to come forward to claim the prize. The Massachusetts Lottery says that the Appleton Market, located in the central Massachusetts town of Sterling, sold a ticket worth $34 million, and the winner’s identity remains a mystery.

Wednesday’s annuity jackpot was worth $122.9 million, with a cash option of $61.4 million. The ticket that was sold in Sterling entitles the winner to half of the jackpot – either 30 graduated payments over 29 years if the annuity option is chosen, or half of the cash option.

Although no one knows for sure who the lucky winner is, speculation is abuzz in Sterling. Appleton Market employee Andrea Roche says she has been told that the ticket buyer is a woman, who lives in Sterling. The ticket is believed to have been purchased during the night shift, however, the date and exact time of the transaction is unknown.

This particular jackpot began November 20, and rolled six times. The other winning ticket is believed to have been bought in Nebraska, and two tickets worth $10,000 were purchased in Dahlonega and Marietta, Georgia for the December 7 drawing.

The Appleton Market will receive $50,000 for selling the winning ticket.
