Netflix Shows ‘House Of Cards,’ ‘Orange Is The New Black’ & ‘Arrested Development’ Net Six Golden Globe Nominations

The award nominations just keep coming for Netflix’s original series. The Golden Globe nominations are out now, and Netflix shows have combined for six of them – four for House of Cards specifically.

HoC’s Kevin Spacey is up for Best Actor in a TV Series, Drama. He’s going against Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex), James Spader (The Blacklist) and Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan).

Spacey’s co-star Robin Wright is up for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama, facing off against Taylor Schilling for Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, as well as Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), Kerry Washington (Scandal) and Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black).

Corey Stoll is up for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie for House of Cards against Rob Lowe (Behind the Candelabra), Josh Charles (The Good Wife), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Jon Voight (Ray Donovan).

House of Cards itself is up for Best TV Series, Drama, against Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Masters of Sex and The Good Wife.

Finally, Arrested Development’s Jason Bateman is up for Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy against Don Cheadle (House of Lies), Michael J. Fox (The Michael J. Fox Show), Jim Parsons (The Big Bing Theory) and Andy Samberg (Brooklyn Nine-Nine).

Spacey is also up for a SAG Award. Meanwhile, House of Cards and Orange is the New Black combined for seven Writers Guild Award nominations.

House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Arrested Development are competing with each other for a People’s Choice Award.

Netflix shows combined for fourteen Emmy nominations and three wins. The wins were all for House of Cards.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, The Square, a documentary Netflix recently acquired is also generating some Oscar buzz.

House of Cards: Season 2 is set to debut on Netflix on Valentine’s Day. The second season of Lilyhammer, Netflix’s first original, debuts on Friday.
