Blake Lively, the 26 year-old actress famous for her role as Serena Van Der Woodsen on the teen drama Gossip Girl, may have a thing or two in common with her socialite character. After attending a December 10th event for Van Cleef & Arpels in New York, Lively now has her heart set on her own pair of vintage earrings from the famous jeweler. “Their estate pieces are incredible…they show how timeless Van Cleef is,” Lively said to E! News earlier this week.

The problem? Well, the bling has a price tag that’s even too high for the A-list star. After Blake gushed about the earrings, the interviewer called out Lively’s famous husband, Ryan Reynolds, saying, “You heard what she wants now, Ryan…you have no excuse!” The actress quickly retorted that the estate jewels would also “mean bankruptcy for us.”

Even if Ryan doesn’t give in to her wishes, Blake seems confident in his gift-giving skills. Earlier this year, Lively said that she was “lucky to be with someone that has better taste than me.” Blake and Ryan wed in secret last September; the couple met while filming The Green Lantern. The couple are spending the holiday season in the Big Apple, which is one of Blake’s favorite traditions: “There’s an energy in the city this time of year that’s just different.”
