Comedian Tracey Ullman has lost her husband Allan McKeown to prostate cancer. McKeown died at the family’s home in L.A. on Christmas Eve. He battled the disease for several years. The couple was just days shy of celebrating thirty years of marriage.

McKeown was a hairdresser in the U.K. before moving to the U.S. His famous clients included The Beatles, Michael Caine and Elizabeth Taylor. After swapping hats in England, Allan became a producer, known for British favorites Lovejoy and Birds Of A Feather. As a producer in Hollywood, he is credited for shows including Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and Tracey Takes On…, his wife’s comedy show. Allan McKeown also produced Lennon, a Broadway musical, and Jerry Springer the Opera at London’s National Theatre.

Maurice Gran, who worked with Allen McKeown on Birds of A Feather, sent his thoughts about his dear friend’s passing via Twitter.

Tracey Ullman and Allan McKeown have two children, Mabel and Johnny. May they all find peace in the legacy their father and husband has left behind.
