Carl Crawford popped the question to Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada over Christmas and the reality show star said yes. The Los Angeles Dodgers player is expecting a baby with Lozada and apparently decided he was ready to make an honest woman of her.

“I’m overjoyed and in complete and utter shock!” Lozada said following word of the engagement. “What a different year and a half it has been – I’m truly happy!”

A rep for Lozada said she wasn’t expecting a proposal, and when Carl Crawford got down on one knee to propose to her on Christmas Day, “it took Evelyn by surprise.”

Evelyn Lozada was previously married to Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. The two divorced back in 2012 after just two months of marriage.

Evelyn loves her gorgeous engagement ring Carl Crawford gave her, and she excitedly shared her happy news with her family, friends and fans via Instagram. She captioned her photo with just one simple word. “Yes!”

Carl had the 14.5 carat diamond ring specially created for Evelyn by Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills.

“Carl has been a longtime client of mine and I knew immediately that he was really smitten and in love and wanted to make a statement that would light up the Christmas tree as well as the bride-to-be,” Arasheben says.

Evelyn Lozada closed her captioning of this photo with the hashtag #happiestgirlintheworld. It’s pretty easy to see why!

Carl Crawford and Evelyn Lozada haven’t announced an official wedding date as of yet. It would seem the couple might get married before their baby is born.
