Last year,Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn was an international sensation. It topped the New York Times Best Seller list for eight weeks in 2012, and it sold over two million copies, both in digital and print form. So understandably, Hollywood’s elite were rushing to buy the rights to the film. Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon quickly attached her name to the project as a producer. Before casting begun, there was a lot of speculation that Witherspoon would take one of the lead roles as Amy Dunne. Instead, Rosamund Pike, best known for her role as Jane Bennett in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice adaptation,won the role.Soon Ben Affleck took the male lead as Nick Dunne.
As one of the most anticipated movies of 2014 gets closer to its release date, more details about the movie are coming to the forefront. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Affleck told the magazine that:
“I don’t want to give away too much, because if you know the book, you know that there are set of reveals that you would want to maintain the integrity of, But I will say that Gillian adapted it and I think it’s very, very faithful to her book. If you read the book and liked it, you will definitely like the movie”, says Affleck.
Three days ago, 20th Century Fox posted a picture of Affleck as Nick on twitter.On the picture Affleck speaks while a big portrait of Pike as Amy has “missing” above her face. People who have read the book can quickly identify this scene.

The plot of Gone Girl is that when a woman, Amy Dunne, goes missing her husband, Nick Dunne, becomes the prime suspect. The more Nick tries to prove his innocence, the more he learns about himself and his wife. The novel is told from both Amy and Nick’s perspective. Gone Girl’s cast also includes Missi Pyle, Patrig Fugit, Casey Wilson,Kim Dickens,Tyler Perry,Emily Ratajkowski,Scott McNairy and Neil Patrick Harris.
Gone Girl is set to release nation wide on Oct 3, 2014.
