Grammy-nominated pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen will be making her Broadway debut, this coming year, in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Jepsen will be taking over the part of Cinderella from Laura Osnes, and will complete the 12-week run of the musical.
“Broadway has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl,” said Jepsen, 28, “and I look forward to working with this incredibly talented cast to tell this classic tale.”
Jepsen participated in musical theater in high school and then attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts after she graduated.
“It was essentially musical theater training with studies in singing, dancing and acting,” she said by email on Sunday.

“My favorite part of the school year was our trip to New York, where we met Broadway performers and toured the theaters.” She said her love for the fairytale is what made her decide to choose Cinderella for her debut. “It’s so hopeful and inspiring,” she said. “I’ve always been one to believe in the impossible, so I relate to her character completely.”
Can't wait to see @carlyraejepsen rock it on #Broadway #Cinderella
