“Guardians Of The Galaxy” won’t be released until the first of August, but it’s already got a willing audience, many of whom are sharing the just-released first photo across the web this week.

The film, which stars “Parks And Recreation” star Chris Pratt, also got a synopsis release to give us some background on the characters.

“An action-packed epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits — Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand — with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.”

Chris Pratt got into shape for the film, showing off his new abs on Instagram earlier this year.

“Six months no beer,” he wrote. “Kinda douchey to post this but my brother made me.”

The actor has made numerous changes to his body in recent months for roles, including gaining 60 pounds for his character in the Vince Vaughn film “Delivery Man”.

“I gained 60 pounds in about four and a half months. I just did it the old fashioned way: eating and drinking my face off,” he said. “I’ve lost a little bit of it, but it was hard. It was probably just as hard as losing weight. You wouldn’t believe it, but it is. It’s these same principle: It’s all about pain.”

“Guardians Of The Galaxy” opens August 1 and also stars Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Benicio Del Toro, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, and Glenn Close.
