Ke$ha entered a rehab facility on Friday, seeking treatment for an eating disorder. The 26-year-old issued a statement via E! News.
“I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I’ve found it hard to practice,” she said. “I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder…to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am.”
Even Ke$ha’s personal trainer was unaware of her issue, despite the fact that the Timber singer has been much thinner than usual lately.
“We’ve been doing a lot of circuit training and incorporating Pilates exercises with weights that heighten and shape the butt,” her trainer, Kit Rich said. “Lunges, squats, stairs and isolated glute exercises.”
“She makes fresh vegetable and fruit juices in her juicer daily,” Rich added. “Plus, she eats lots of protein—she really loves salmon!—and steamed veggies and tons of water.”
Ke$ha has entered the same rehab facility where Demi Lovato sought treatment for bipolar disorder, drug and alcohol addiction and an eating disorder–Timberline Knolls, outside of Chicago.
The star of MTV’s My Crazy Beautiful Life, it’s uncertain if Ke$ha’s show will be renewed for a third season. It’s far more important that she gets help for her eating disorder, however. Hopefully her time in rehab sets her on the road to a much healthier lifestyle. Kudos to this young woman for admitting she needs help and for checking into a facility to receive it.
