Alyssa Milano recently took to Twitter to address some comments actor Jay Mohr made about her body, and after some backlash ensued and Mohr apologized, Milano accepted the apology and spoke about the incident in an interview.

Mohr made the comments during a radio interview after the pair attended the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards in December, saying she’d forgotten to wear her Spanx.

“She’s very tiny, in height…It seems like she had a baby and said, ‘I don’t really give a s–t’…I read it on her gut,” Mohr said in a radio interview. “Somebody sat in the director’s chair and was not wearing Spanx and I was like, ‘Jesus Christ.’”

Milano addressed the comments on Twitter, writing, “So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife.” Later, Mohr responded with an apology, calling the actress “stunning”.

“She’s stunning,” Mohr tweeted. “I mistakenly thought the absurdity of what I was saying would have ben taken as a joke. #fail”

Milano accepted the apology, but says she wanted to remind Mohr that his comments were aimed at a human being and they had the power to hurt.

“Well, he made a comment that was not so nice about my weight and I called him out on Twitter about it. I just think he was trying to make a joke and not think about it,” Milano said. “I heard it actually on Christmas Day and it hurt me, I was affected by it and I wanted to remind him that I’m a human being and that this hurts.”

As far as how society treats women about their bodies, Milano says it’s just not fair, especially to a woman who recently had a child.

“I think it’s an interesting statement about where we are socially that people feel that they can sort of rip a woman’s body apart after having a baby,” she said. “I don’t think it’s fair.”
