Even if you don’t know his name, you’ve definitely heard his signature line. Haley Joel Osment was the famous little boy in the 1999 Blockbuster hit film, The Sixth Sense.

Osment, who starred opposite Bruce Willis in the chilling film, portrayed the role of Cole Sear, who had the eerie ability to communicate with the dead. However, he couldn’t just hear them. He could actually see them, hence his famous lie.

“I see dead people,” was the most popular line of the film. It immediately became a fan favorite, as one of the greatest lines in film. It has been used in a number of other movies, TV sitcoms, and of course, parodies. That one liner catapulted Osment to a pivotal level of stardom.

Now, 15 years later, Osment is still amazed at the longevity of the one-liner from his Oscar-nominated role, reports TODAY. On Thurs., Jan. 9,  the 25-year-old actor sat down for an interview with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Access Hollywood Live. Osment shared a little about life then and how the notable role has followed him throughout the years.

“Looking back, it makes sense now, but when we shot the movie nobody was thinking … that it was going to be the hit that was and established that sort of call sign,” he continued.

With the release of The Sixth Sense, Osment’s career soared, opening doors for other high-end film projects like A.I. Artificial Intelligence, and a slew of voice-over projects like Family Guy, Jungle Book II, and the Kingdom Hearts video game series.

While most of his projects were behind the scenes, he’s back in the spotlight with a number of upcoming projects slated to be released this year.

One film project in particular is The Spoils of Babylon TV mini-series. The comedic, Will Ferrell-produced series includes a star-studded cast with Osment starring alongside Tobey Maguire, Kristen Wiig, Val Kilmer, Jessica Alba and of course Ferrell, himself.

Osment briefly touched on the comedic series, which aired last night on the IFC Channel. “Tobey’s been funny before, but I don’t think anyone has quite seen him like this,” he said. “And Kristen, who is just one of the funniest people around, really knocks it out of the park,” he continued. “It was some of the most fun I’ve ever had.”
