The Griswold’s are back! Well, the actors who played the Griswold’s are back together.

Chevy Chase and Vacation co-star Beverly D’Angelo are reuniting in a project ABC is developing for the 2015-2016 TV season.

The deal which is being developed by executive producer Aaron Kaplan has been completed but a writer, studio and script are still being hashed out. The pilot is based on an idea by Kaplan about a pair of 60-something grandparents forced to raise their grandchildren.

The former SNL comedian’s most recent stunt on prime time was in the NBC series Community, which he left in the fourth season. Last year, he reprised his role as Pierce Hawthorne in the show’s season opener in a surprise cameo.

D’Angelo is known for her role as tough agent Barbara Miller in the HBO acclaimed series Entourage and for her incredible portrayal as Patsy Cline in Coal Miner’s Daughter in which she did her own singing.

Chase and D’Angelo played Clark and Ellen Griswold in the highly successful Vacation Franchise which included National Lampoon’s Vacation, followed by the sequels, European Vacation, Christmas Vacation and Vegas Vacation.

Chase and D’Angelo have been in talks to reprise their roles as the Griswold’s in an updated version of Vacation starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate.

The old pals starred in a 2010 Superbowl Commercial called ‘Hotel Hell Vacation’, a short re-make of Vacation.
