Miranda Lambert is the kind of girl that can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. That includes losing weight. After turning 30, Miranda decided it was time to get into shape before her metabolism started to slow down and she really started to pack on the pounds.
“You know what? I fluctuate all the time in my weight—it’s really annoying—but I’m going to be 30 in like four days, so I’m like, ‘I need to get ahead of this thing!’ Because they say when you hit 30 it doesn’t get easier.” “So I thought, ‘Well, you know, if I get a little healthier before I turn 30, maybe I can get ahead of the game,” she said in a recent interview.
The country music star was not large by any means, but was also not as slim as she would have liked to have been.
Lambert looked amazing and skinnier than ever at the Grammy Awards, where she wore a sexy red dress that showed off her newly slim figure. Lambert performed “When Will I Be Loved” with Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong for tribute to Phil Everly during the awards.
Lambert claims that she started losing weight when she began cutting junk food from her diet, namely Cheetos. She also said that working, juicing, and running has helped her drop the pounds.
When she showed off her figure in November of last year, she was accused by the tabloids of having plastic surgery. She defended herself on her website saying,
“Though I NEVER care what the tabloids have to say about me. I wanted to address this certain story they are running this week and set the record straight. I DID NOT have surgery to lose weight. That is ridiculous,” she said.
“I lost my weight the healthy and good old fashioned way,” she continued. “Watching what I eat and working out with my trainer Bill Crutchfield. As for the assumed number of pounds lost…? I don’t even know! Like I have always said, it’s not about a scale, it’s about how you feel and how your jeans fit. And on November 10th when I turned 30, my skinny jeans were finally baggy! Mission accomplished! So for anyone who is tempted to read the ‘Trash Talk’ please don’t. I am proud to be a normal size girl and I want to encourage everyone to be confident at any size. Thanks for the support yall!”
