The LEGO Movie just came out of left field as one of the early critical darlings of the year. All the trailers and pre-release content made it seem like your usual children’s fare, but it’s currently sitting at a 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes with only one negative review so far. With reviews like that, you can finally feel good about taking your kids to a movie.

After the movie’s over, the real battle will begin as your kids will no doubt want all the merchandise and other entertainment to come out of this movie. That’s where The LEGO Movie Videogame comes in as it takes the successful LEGO video game formula found in games like LEGO Lord of the Rings and LEGO Harry Potter, and applies it to the plot of the film.

While the gameplay will remain largely unchanged from past games, The LEGO Movie Videogame will attempt something that hasn’t been seen before in Traveler’s Tales LEGO games:

“We challenged ourselves to introduce a new element never-before-seen in any LEGO game and did that with environments made entirely out of LEGO bricks, giving players more authentic opportunities to interact with the world around them,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. “This is a chance for every LEGO builder to collect LEGO instruction pages and harness the powers of the Master Builders.”

After watching the movie with your kids this weekend, you can pick up The LEGO Movie Videogame starting today for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS and PC.
