Madame Tussauds in New York is a well-known attraction for tourists from all over the world, but the wax figures showcased there can take quite a hit from the thousands of admirers who visit every year. Such was the case with the figure of Justin Bieber, which has been removed from the floor due to touchy-feely fans who couldn’t get enough of the Biebs.

“With no ropes or barriers to stop them, thousands of fans have had their photographs taken with him…but it has taken its toll,” a source says.

The museum owners say they will take the opportunity to install a new wax figure for Bieber…one with a more adult likeness than the previous one, which had a definite baby-faced look.

“This is disappointing, but hopefully we can welcome a new ‘grown-up’ Justin back to the attraction in the near future,” said general manager Bret Pidgeon.

Bieber has dominated headlines in the past couple of months with a vandalism charge after an egg-throwing incident, a drug bust at his home in which rapper Lil’ Za was arrested, and an arrest of his own after he was caught drag racing while under the influence in January.

The pop star has been in so much trouble recently that thousands of people signed a petition to deport him back to Canada; however, a counter-petition was also created urging his fans to help keep him safe here in the U.S.

“Stop Justin Bieber from getting deported. He is a human being and he makes mistakes. He does not deserve this. The whole idea of Justin Drew Bieber getting deported, is completely unfair. He doesn’t deserve this…. With your help, we can stop it. He’s human. He’s not perfect. The media sees the bad side of him. Please. He’s saved so many lives. Including mine. A lifesaver, Shouldn’t deserve this,” the petition reads.
