George Zimmerman, the Florida man who was found innocent of murdering 17 year old Trayvon Martin, sat down with CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Monday, on the network’s morning show New Day, and he discussed a slew of topics, including his life after the trial and what his future plans will be.

Although Zimmerman initially believed that his life would go back to normal after the trial ended, he said that hasn’t been the case and he fears for his life all the time.

“I have a lot of people saying that, you know, they guarantee that they’re going to kill me and I’ll never be a free man,” he said.

The 30 year old also said that he doesn’t feel guilty about what happened, because if he didn’t shoot Martin, he would have been dead. “In my mind between God and me…I know that if I did not act the way I acted, I would not be here,” he said in a separate interview with Univision.

“When you hit your head repeatedly against the concrete, you have a broken nose, eyes full of blood and tears, you’re not in the position to do much.”

It’s safe to assume that many people thought that Zimmerman would do whatever it took to stay out of the media since being acquitted, but that hasn’t been the case at all, because just within the last few months, he’s had two run-ins with the police, involving his ex-wife Shelly Zimmerman and his current girlfriend.

But the former neighborhood watchmen said despite all of that, he still wants to lead a life that’s low-key. “Honestly, I [would] love to live a calm life without being in the press,” he admitted. “I’d like to be [viewed as] any American citizen, to [get] a ticket for going at high speed or having an argument with his wife, if the police come and not have everyone aware. But that, as I said, that’s my life and I do not understand why that is. But I’m living my life as I have always lived.”
