Sony began the HD remaster trend with God of War Collection for PS3. At the time, it seemed developers were just content with upgrading the resolution of these older games and leaving it at that. Square Enix has proven it isn’t so lazy with its HD remasters of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy X.
In the latest trailer for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Square explains why it took them three years to upgrade the visuals of a decade-old game. It turns out that they upgraded and improved more than just the visuals as they added new content not found in the North American version of the game.
On top of the new features, they’ve also remixed the music, added trophies and included an audio drama. All of these new additions and features add up to create the definitive version of Final Fantasy X and X-2 for fans and newcomers alike.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be out on March 18 for PS3 and PS Vita.
