Courteney Cox was recently spotted vacationing in Venice with new boyfriend Johnny McDaid and her nine-year-old daughter Coco.

Cox, star of the television series Cougar Town and perhaps best known for her role on the long-running hit sitcom Friends, was introduced to McDaid a few months ago.

Cox and McDaid, who plays piano and guitar in the alternative band Snow Patrol, were introduced by mutual friend and McDaid’s housemate and fellow musician Ed Sheeran.

Although McDaid hails from Derry, Northern Ireland, he and Sheeran currently live in Los Angeles. The two moved to LA from Nashville to work on Sheeran’s sophomore album, but the arrangement has the added benefit of putting McDaid in close proximity to Cox.

Cox married actor David Arquette in 1999. Their daughter Coco was born in 2004. In 2010 the couple announced they had separated. Arquette filed for divorce in 2012 and their divorce was finalized the following year.

Back in March of 2011, Cox shared her thoughts on dating with Harper’s Bazaar:

“I’m not saying never. It just seems weird. I don’t even know how that would happen or how you meet people. I really don’t like to go out. I’m not great at small talk. I like to go to dinner with people. I don’t like to go to parties. There’s a sign on my forehead: EXITING SOCIAL LIFE, ENTERING INTO ISOLATION.”

Despite her reservations about dating after divorce, Cox seems to be enjoying her relationship with McDaid. Sources say the couple has already met each others’ families.

Arquette has moved on too and Cox appears to be fine with that. Arquette and girlfriend Christina McLarty are expecting a baby boy, something Cox revealed during a January appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

She said she has a great relationship with both Arquette and McLarty:

” … We actually all had dinner the other night … The whole family. It’s a very unique relationship. All of us like literally, me and Christina and David and Coco. It’s great though.”

“When you love someone, you want them to be happy, even if it’s not with you,” she said recently in an interview with More magazine.
