Skywalkers and Siths and Jedis, oh my!

The latest leaks in the upcoming Star Wars installment have run rampant. Some rumors stand firmer than others. However, recently, Marketsaw posted leaks from his most trusted Star Wars source, mostly about who will be cast.

The following names have been heavily mentioned: Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, Warwick Davies, with newcomers Gary Oldman and Benedict Cumberbatch.

The source told Marketsaw, “I believe Cumberbatch and Oldman were pursued for the same role, but I don’t know how that will work out with the script changes, but I’m told they are both involved.”

Oldman and Cumberbatch? Now we’re talking! But what roles will they fill?

Since the protagonist side is filled with members of the older cast, some speculate if both actors will play villians. After all, Cumberbatch is coming off of menacing performances in both Star Trek: Into Darkness and The Hobbit Trilogy.

But, either way, Marketsaw reports that the plot has indeed been locked down, though none of this has been officially confirmed by the filmmakers.

“Ultimately it’s about twins,” the source says, “and which will take a path towards darkness and which will follow in their father’s footsteps, or at least that is what it used to be, that may come later as I think changes are being undertaken to bring the original cast into the forefront of the story leading to ramifications that lead up to the next generation of Skywalkers.”

Recently, Tom Hiddleston denied rumors that he is associated with the upcoming film.

“Well, that hasn’t happened yet. It’d be very flattering, of course. I did talk to Ewan about it once,” Hiddleston told Timeout. “When they asked if he wanted to be Obi-Wan Kenobi he said, ‘Are you joking? Of course!’ But his experience didn’t live up to the promise. Besides, I imagine they’re looking for people who don’t have an association elsewhere. The audience need to believe in the character, rather than saying, ‘Oh look, Loki with a lightsaber!'”

Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman, however, is extremely disappointed about being left out of Episode 7, mainly because of missing an opportunity to work with director JJ Abrams.

“I think JJ Abrams is such a talent and I can’t wait to see what he does,” Portman said. “I am only sorry that my character died, which means I can’t be in them. I saw him somewhere and I said ‘How did this happen?’ I can’t believe I’m not going to be in the new movie.”

In additional news, Den of Geek reports that a full scale Millennium Falcon is being built at Pinewood Studios, as well as lightsaber hilts. The prop shop is on a complete security clampdown. In fact, the model makers are being recruited on up to seven-year contracts (covering three sequels and three spin-offs).

And speaking of the Millennium Falcon, in other exciting news, Harrison Ford could also have two more Indiana Jones features in the works, depending on his contract clause with Star Wars.

Star Wars: Episode 7 will be released in theaters on December 18, 2015.
