An Amber Alert in Dundalk, Maryland has residents concerned after a woman was found dead at the child’s home.
The victim has not been identified yet and details are not being disclosed as the investigation is ongoing, but the missing child is identified as 11-year old Caitlyn Marie Virts. Authorities believe she may be with her father, Timothy Virts, who is not supposed to have custody of the child at all. Virts has been involved in two custody battles in the past and has had a court order placed upon him to stay away from an unknown person recently. He is believed to be dangerous and may be driving a black 1999 Dodge Durango with Maryland plate No. 5AJ4458.
“Do not take action which could endanger your safety or further endanger the abducted child,” a notice from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Baltimore County Police Department at (410) 887-7320 immediately. Caitlyn is 5-feet tall, about 80 pounds, with fair hair and she may be wearing glasses. The alert was issued just before 11 a.m. on Thursday morning.
Caitlyn was last seen at the 3100 block of Ardee Way on Thursday; police were called to her home after reports of a person going into cardiac arrest were called in, but a homicide unit is currently conducting an investigation into the death there.
