The FBI is currently searching for the nation’s most wanted domestic terrorism suspect in Hawaii. The FBI received credible evidence that terrorist Daniel Andreas San Diego was hiding out in Hawaii and agents are currently searching for him in Puna and Pahoa.
San Diego is on top of the FBI’s list of most-wanted domestic terrorists. A $250,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest. San Diego is wanted for setting off several pipe bombs in front of animal testing facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Two of the bombs exploded at Chiron Corp. on Aug. 28, 2003. The first bomb did not injure anyone as they were set during the early morning hours and nobody was around. Investigators believe that the second bomb which exploded shortly after the first, was made to injure first responders who would arrive to check the scene after the first bomb. The second bomb did not injure anyone either but both bombs caused severe damage to the buildings. San Diego is also responsible for a bomb that exploded at cosmetic maker Shaklee Corp. on Sept. 26, 2003.
San Diego is considered an animal rights extremist and the FBI believes he is in Hawaii looking for a new group or cause to join. The FBI focused their search in Hawaii over a year ago when they received tips that San Diego was in the area. They interviewed many people in Pahoa and other areas of Hawaii but were not able to locate San Diego at that time.
They did not say what evidence had caused them to return to Hawaii. This is not the first time the FBI has received evidence that they believed was credible about the whereabouts of San Diego. In 2001, they received several tips that suggested San Diego was in western Massachusetts, but were unable to locate him.
They are hoping someone in Hawaii has information about San Diego and can help the FBI locate and arrest him so he can be charged for his crimes.
