Sony has kept the PlayStation 4 indie game train rolling this week with the announcement of Counterspy for its latest console. According to developer Dynamighty, Counterspy will be coming to PS4 sometime this summer.
The game is also coming to PlayStation 3, PS Vita, iOS, and Android. Despite the new console announcement, Dynamighty Creative Director David Nottingham emphasized in a PlayStation blog post that the studio is still “super committed” to the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game. He also revealed that the mobile versions of the game will sync to console versions.
Announced at E3 2013, CounterSpy is a sidescrolling stealth/action game that puts players into the shoes of a master of sabotage. As a C.O.U.N.T.E.R. agent players will infiltrate cold war bases to steal and destroy unthinkable weapons of mass destruction.
The game gives players a variety of tools and weapons with which to accomplish their missions. A bit of CounterSpy gameplay was revealed today in a short teaser trailer accompanying the PS4 announcement:
