Miley Cyrus isn’t shy about showing off her body, but one photo posted to Instagram over the weekend shows off a part of her we rarely see: the inside of her lip.

The 21-year old pop star gave us a glimpse of what appears to be a tattoo of a “sad kitty“, and although she hasn’t confirmed that the ink is real, why would anyone put a fake tattoo on the inside of their lip?

The controversial singer never stops surprising us; earlier this month, she ran out onstage in a bra and underwear to perform after a wardrobe malfunction left her without a full costume.

“I didn’t make my quick change and I couldn’t not come out for the song so I just had to run out in my undies. Never happened to me before. But I love my fans as much as they love me! I couldn’t miss 23. Show must go on,” she wrote on Twitter.

Cyrus has her fair share of detractors–especially since the infamous MTV VMAs last summer, when she performed a racy number with Robin Thicke in a bizarre outfit–but she’s been very successful with her album “Bangerz”, which she’s touring for now. And while she already has quite a few tattoos, this one may have proven the most painful; Cyrus posted a photo of herself on Twitter soon after revealing the ink with the caption “OUCHYBOOBOO”.
