L’Wren Scott, fashion designer and girlfriend of Mick Jagger, was found dead in her Manhattan, New York apartment Monday around 10 a.m.
Investigators say she hanged herself and did not leave a suicide note. They also concluded that there were no signs of foul play.
Reports say that Scott sent a message to her assistant to come over and that’s when her body was discovered.
Police have filed it as a suicide until further details are provided by an autopsy.
In a 2009 Q&A interview with The Daily Beast, Scott shared some interesting facts about herself.
The 6 ft. 4 in. former model was adopted and raised as a Mormon in Utah. She was born as Luann Bambrough, but changed her name in 1985 once she turned 18.
The same year, she decided to make her way to Paris to pursue her fashion career. (image)
Scott previously modeled for clothing designer Chanel and worked in PR for Prada. The fashionista was also a wardrobe stylist for American photographer Herb Ritts and actresses like Nicole Kidman.
When referring to the Oscar dress she designed for Kidman in 2009, Scott was reported saying how “fun” it was to work on the project:
Nicole called me and told me she loved this dress I designed last spring, but wanted to add some couture details. I don’t mind making couture dresses for private clients. I love to create a single dress with amazing embroidery or fabric—and they always seem to find a good home! I do a lot of special orders for people. I find it fun.
The stylist’s personal love life with Jagger, 70, seemed to be a success as well.
The pair first met in 2001 at a photo shoot and have been together ever since.
In 2006, Scott finally launched her fashion label and immediately became a household name for many celebrities.
Sources say that Jagger adored his girlfriend’s style and even helped her get her line started.
Scott was recalled saying:
Mick loves what I wear, and always has something to say about it! Look at the way he dresses! I don’t think there’s a more fashion-conscious man in the world.
Scott was only 49 years old.
