After scoring a career high 54 points in January and a 41 game streak of scoring at least 25 points, it’s no wonder Kevin Durant is quickly becoming the top choice for the NBA MVP this year. Even Lebron James thinks Durant should get the award.

“I would say he’s the most consistent basketball player as far as the MVP this year, man. He’s put up some great numbers,” said James.

Breaking Michael Jordan’s streak of consecutive games scoring 25 points or more was an added bonus to a stellar season Durant has been having. At least 12 of those games Durant scored at least 40 points.

“I think KD has had one heck of a season. And, you know, if he’s rewarded with the MVP, it would be great. It would be awesome for him, for his family. He’s played MVP-type basketball. I don’t really get caught up into what people say. At the end of the day, they have their own votes and they go from there,” said James.

It looks like James isn’t the only person who believes Durant should get the MVP award this year.

While many would think Durant would want his streak to never end, he had some “pointed words” recently.

Durant is on his way to joining some of the NBA’s greatest players.
