It’s almost time for Easter and for many families, that means it’s time to decorate Easter eggs. Many stores carry egg decorating kits that allow you to dye the egg shells a variety of colors. While most people prefer this tried and true method of decorating eggs, there are plenty of other ways to decorate them as well. If you are ready to try something new this Easter, give one of these decorating ideas a try.

Glitter
Glitter makes eggs sparkle and also makes them easier to find when the Easter bunny hides them. You can add glitter to the eggs by using a glue stick to apply glue to the egg shell and then sprinkling the glitter over the eggs. You can also make designs with the glue stick such as shapes, letters or numbers and then add the glitter to highlight the design.

Buttons
If you save buttons or collect them, you can use them to make adorable eggs that are as unique as they are cute. Use a hot glue gun to adhere the buttons to the eggs. Use them to make initials or just add them in a random pattern. Kids will enjoy sorting the buttons by shape and color before adding them to the eggs.

Candy
Hard candies make great decorations for Easter eggs, as do sprinkles, chocolate chips and other edibles. Use glue to attach the candies to the eggs and remember, you can’t eat them once they have been glued. If you want to remove the candies to eat later, you can use icing to stick them onto the eggs.

Lace And Sequins
If you really want to dress up your eggs for the Easter holiday, bring out your sewing bag and find some sequins and lace. You can wrap the lace around the eggs and hold it in place with glue or glue the sequins onto the eggs to make them stand out.
