Idris Elba and his girlfriend, Naiyana Garth, have welcomed their first child together, the actor revealed via Twitter on April 17, the day after his son was born.

“My Son Winston Elba was born yesterday..Truly Amazing,” the 41-year-old actor wrote. Alongside the caption, the Luther star shared a beautiful black and white photo of his little baby boy holding onto his finger.

The actor also has an 11-year-old daughter, Isan, from a previous relationship.

The British actor has a plethora of projects in the works including a live-action movie adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic The Jungle Book.

Elba is perhaps best known for his performance of Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and is also known for TV roles on The Wire and Luther.
