Hailee Steinfeld is on board for the upcoming film Pitch Perfect 2, and she likely shared her excitement about getting the role with friend Taylor Swift. While some believe the two are merely social media friends, they’re actually great pals in real life, too.
Hailee covers the May issue of Nylon and within its pages shares a few tidbits about their friendship.
Taylor’s “an amazing friend,” she says.
“I always get the ‘Tell us something nobody knows [about Taylor] question,” Steinfeld continues. “And it’s like, we both respect each other tremendously, but we choose to keep our friendship out of the public eye. She’s a really great person and an inspiration to me and many others.”
Hailee describes herself in Nylon as a “normal teenager.”
“It is about being honest,” she explains. “People live different lifestyles, and I always find an equivalency: If I’m filming or going to and audition it’s [the same as] my friends going school or dance class. I think everyone lives the same way and encounters the same sort of life.”

The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s own Emma Stone is the one who introduced Hailee Steinfeld to Steinfeld said about Swift. “We just love to kick back, listen to music, watch TV, bake, watch movies and all of that kind of stuff.”
The two girls were spotted just last weekend in New York having dinner. They also had a blast during awards season, dancing at a Golden Globes after party. They will likely enjoy some sort of celebration for Hailee getting her Pitch Perfect 2 role.

Give today’s celebrity presence, Hailee Steinfeld could certainly have chosen far worse people to hang out with than Taylor Swift. At least the We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together singer serves as a decent, wholesome role model for the 17-year-old.
