A-List celebrities inundated the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in New York City on May 5, however, not even the Beckhams are getting more attention than Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. The pair do not usually attend these sort of red carpet events, but the amorous couple made a lasting impression and are atop of the Twitter hashtag: #WorldsMostBeautifulCouple.

America’s sweethearts delighted fans even more by wearing matching Gucci outfits. Lively, 26, wore a glamorous Gucci Premiere silk chiffon mermaid gown that was enhanced with a plunging neckline. Meanwhile Reynolds, 37, sported a custom made blue velvet Gucci tuxedo with a red bowtie. He didn’t shave for the event but no one works scruff quite like the Green Lantern.

The couple smiled and posed for photographers and the Twitter world erupted with glee.

Lively and Reynolds were married in September 2012 in a quiet ceremony. Reynolds was briefly married to Scarlet Johansson before the pair divorced in 2011.

There were certainly no shortage of hot celebrities at the exclusive event.
