Miley Cyrus’ current image is a far cry from the girl we saw on the Disney Channel just a few years ago. Now she’s a proper pop star and has the attitude to match. Unfortunately, her attitude has led some to jump to some nasty conclusions about her health to which the star says aren’t true.

The BBC reports that Cyrus was hospitalized in April for what she and her family said was due to an allergic reaction to some drugs given to her for a sinus infection. While that is very likely the case, others began to spread rumors that Cyrus had overdosed on drugs. As you can imagine, the pop star didn’t take very well to these rumors and issued a statement:

Miley was suffering from a sinus infection during her tour. She was prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin which she’s now suffered an extreme allergic reaction to. This type of extreme reaction can last from five to 27 days in these types of cases. She will remain hospitalized and is under a doctor’s care until we see some improvement in her condition and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time. Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans.

Cyrus’ statement on Twitter was a little more to the point:

After an extended hospital stay, Cyrus is back on tour. As part of her Bangerz tour, she’s traveling through Europe with her latest stop being in London. While there, she has posted a number of interesting photos that prove she’s all better.

While it’s easy to say her behavior is not unlike the behavior of those on drugs, she’s probably clean. Cyrus has an image to maintain after all:
