Things could get really messy for Sherri Shepherd.
News came out this week that The View co-host and husband Lamar Sally are headed towards divorce. Yesterday, we also found out that Shepherd and Sally are expecting a baby via surrogate.
Shepherd and Sally were married in August 2011. Sally filed for legal separation on May 2 and is reportedly asking for a lot. Sally, who is a television writer, plans to seek spousal support, full custody of the baby boy (due in July), visitation rights with Shepherd’s 8-year-old son from her previous marriage with Jeff Tarpley, and he wants their prenup to be invalidated due to what he’s calling fraud.
Sally is also insisting that the unborn baby be named Lamar Sally Jr.

Apparently Shepherd, 47, never let the tatters of her personal life affect her performance on the talk show. A source recently told People, “She is such a pro. She came to work all week and nobody knew that anything was going on. Nobody knew that she was even expecting with the surrogate.” The source added, “She keeps it so together and professional. People thought she was fine.”
Shepherd’s first marriage ended in 2009 after she discovered that Tarpley was having an affair and a baby with another woman. The event led Shepherd to star in the autobiographical sitcom Sherri. However, the show only lasted one season.
In addition to being a co-host on The View since 2005, standup comedian, published author, and Newlywed Game host, Shepherd is also a prolific actress. Some of her most recent memorable performances have come on How I Met Your Mother and as Tracy Jordan’s demanding wife on 30 Rock. Meanwhile, according to IMDB.com, Sally has only one official writing credit for the sitcom Rodney back in 2008.
