He finally put a ring on it!
Kelly Rowland is officially a married woman after marrying her fiancé Tim Witherspoon in a small, and intimate, ceremony on Friday, May 9, in Costa Rica.
According to US Weekly, the former Destiny’s Child star, was joined by her closest friends and family which included: Beyoncé Knowles and her sister Solange Knowles, who has recently been headlining the news for attacking Beyoncé’s beau Jay Z in an elevator at the Met Gala in New York City. Apparently, the duo hopped on private jet, after the altercation, to make it to their friend’s nuptials.
Rowland and Witherspoon have been together for years, but 33-year-old Rowland didn’t confirm her engagement until December 2013, during an appearance on The Queen Latifah Show.
“He put a ring on it,” she said, flashing her ring on her left hand. “It’s been a while. We’ve kept it very, very low — for years, to be completely honest.” Rowland also described the proposal, saying that he did it through Skype. “It was so late — we were just staring at each other,” she said, and added that he later followed up with a gorgeous diamond ring.
A source close to the couple said the ceremony was very quick and simple, with only around thirty guests. Earlier in the day, Beyoncé posted an Instagram photo, captioned by saying, “Good Morning,” of herself in what appeared to be a bridesmaid dress; however, she made no mention of the wedding.
Rowland was previously engaged to Roy Williams, but they later split in 2005; just a few short months before they were scheduled to be married. She later said that she decided to end the relationship because she was too young for marriage.
Rowland is currently working on her fifth studio album.
