You loved them in You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle. Now Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks are teaming up once again. This time not as actor and actor, but as actor and director. It is now confirmed that Tom Hanks will have a role in Meg Ryan’s directorial debut, Ithaca.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hanks will have a cameo in the movie, which is based off of the William Saroyan’s 1943 novel, The Human Comedy. Described as a coming of age story about life on the home-front during World War II, the movie concerns a teenaged boy in California who delivers life-altering messages on bicycle in the course of the war. The script was adapted by Erik Jendresen, who worked with Hanks during Band of Brothers. Hanks is actually pulling double duty of actor (in the part of the main character’s father) and executive producer.

Relaxnews reported that Sam Shepard and Melanie Griffith will also appear in the movie. Although neither have the particular history with either Hanks or Ryan, both are sure to deliver good performances.

Although it’s been 16 years since their last movie, You’ve Got Mail, the two have been seen reuniting in public in recent years. Buzzfeed imagined the following amusing conversation between the two of them:

Tom: Hey Meg! Remember You’ve Got Mail? That was a fun movie, but sadly nowadays it’s barely relavant. Not because the film isn’t a masterpiece, but because people relate to tweets these days. We should remake the film and call it You’ve Got Tweets. Yes, this is one of my best ideas to date.
Meg: I’m sorry I didn’t hear you.
Tom: I said, we should remake You’ve Got Mail into You’ve Got Tweets.
Meg: I CAN’T HEAR YOU. CAN’T YOU SEE MY HANDS IS BY MY EAR. IT’S VERY LOUD IN HERE.
Tom: I SAID, You’ve Got Tweets
Meg: YOU’VE GOT BEETS?
TOM: TWEETS.
MEG: NO THANK YOU, I’M NOT HUNGRY!
