Katherine Heigl is well-known for her love of animals and even started a foundation that helps shelter dogs find homes with loving families.
Heigl has admitted to feeling guilty that she can’t help more animals, but says that just because she can’t find them a permanent home doesn’t mean she won’t offer them a temporary one at her own house.
Her husband Josh Kelley loves animals as much as Heigl, but isn’t as keen on adopting them all and allowing them all in their home.
Heigl said that she has smuggled several animals into their home without telling her husband. She also said that he is as quick to fall in love with them as she is and that he doesn’t mind them being there after a while.
According to Heigl, she has adopted eight dogs, 11 horses, two donkeys and 10 chickens without asking her husband first.
She said, “It’s better to ask forgiveness than permission, you know?”
Heigl has two daughters who share her love for animals as well and they have no problem with their mother bringing so many into their home.

“Naleigh is into the dogs. But Adelaide is obsessed,” she said of her daughters.

Heigl started her foundation in honor of her brother who died in a car accident when she was only seven years old.
“It’s a way of giving him a legacy. The one he didn’t live long enough to give himself.”
The foundation was a great way for Heigl to help save the lives of animals she cares about while also preserving the memory of her brother.
What do you think of Heigl’s animal smuggling?
