Megan Fox definitely had a lot to say at Comic-Con 2014.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the 28-year-old actress recently attended the entertainment and comic convention in San Diego, CA for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles press circuit.
The famed beauty had no reservations about sharing her views and opinion of the new Michael Bay film.
Fox, who portrays April O’Neill, spoke candidly about her role in the movie. She made sure to express her displeasure about the lack of girl power in the action film.
“There was a lot of girl power that ended up on the cutting room floor, unfortunately,” Fox said. She specifically recalled a “really awesome” fight scene between her and the Foot Clan.
Although Fox was quite fond of the action scene, she revealed the production team ultimately decided it didn’t fit with the image they were aiming to create for her character. “I think they were like, ‘Why would a tiny journalist be able to kick so much ass?”
Fox went on to share a few more details about her character. The Jennifer’s Body actress described her character as an “ambitious journalist,” who’s usually underestimated due to her profession.
She also explained some of the differences between the original character and the revised version she portrays in the film. “[She’s] a little less angsty, not darker, but a little less happy-go-lucky, super-sweet damsel in distress,” Fox explained. “I couldn’t possibly relate to that,” she said sarcastically.
However, Fox did reveal that she does get a small piece of all the action. The Transformers star briefly discussed an intense scene she has with Shredder. Fox made sure not to divulge too much information about the intriguing scene, which only piques fans’ interest even more. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait much longer!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters nationwide August 8.
