Chris Brown is diligently working on his upcoming album.
Since his release from jail on June 2, he’s been focused on the post-production of his sixth studio album X.
According to Cover Media, the 25-year-old singer is pulling out all the stops to ensure the album is a monumental success.
An insider close to the “Loyal” singer shared details about his big plans for the highly anticipated album with Hollywood Life. The source explained the Grammy Award-winning singer doesn’t just want quality music. He also wants big bucks.
“Chris wants X to not only be bomb in terms of the content, but he wants it to make a killing and sell well too,” a source said. “This is a business and he does want to make money.”
“The people behind him who are working on this are straight professionals who have been doing this before Chris was even born. They know what they’re doing, and Chris is letting them do their jobs. That’s what they get paid to do.”
He’s reportedly collaborating with some of the industry’s heavy hitters. The album boasts features from Kendrick Lamar, Ludacris, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and Wiz Khalifa. He’s also had the opportunity to work with notable producers like Timbaland, Danja, Pharrell Williams, Drumma Boy and “Look At Me Now” producer Diplo.
The album was originally scheduled to be released in 2013. However, the release was delayed four times as a result of the troubled singer’s legal woes. For those who missed it, 2013 was a tumultuous year for the famed R&B crooner. He was arrested three times before he voluntarily entered rehab in October for his anger issues. But, on March 14, 2014, he was kicked out of rehab and sent to jail.
Chris Brown’s X album is tentatively scheduled to be released sometime in September.
