Bill Clinton’s second term in office may have been plagued by scandal. The Monica Lewinsky discovery coming at the end of a long bout of investigations and special prosecutor sprawl that wound up going nowhere left America feeling drained. Little did we know what was coming just a short time later.

But since leaving the White House, Bill Clinton’s stock has done nothing but rise. His work with the Clinton Global Initiative and the foundation that he, Hillary and daughter Chelsea work with has kept him in the public eye.

A familiar sight nowadays is seeing Bill Clinton palling around with what some would consider enemies, particularly the Bushes, both George W. and George H.W.

Now that he is not president, Clinton occasionally takes the opportunity to backhand his critics, as he did with Fox News talking head Chris Wallace in 2006 when Wallace put him on the spot by asking why he did not do more to stop Bin Laden.

Many Democrats joke that they would vote for Bill Clinton again in a heartbeat if they were allowed to do so.

Now that there is a presumption that Hillary Clinton will run for the Dem nomination for president, a common question for Bill Clinton is, “Will Hillary run?” As usual, so far, Bill Clinton’s response is always, “I don’t know.”

“We’ve reached a point in our life when we think you really shouldn’t run for office if you don’t have a clear idea of what you can do and a unique contribution you can make and you can outline that,” Clinton told CNN’s Anna Coren. “Now that the book is done, she wants time to think about that and work through it. I think so much of politics is background noise, and we don’t need the background noise anymore.”

“She is the ablest public servant I have ever worked with, even if she is my wife,” Bill Clinton said. “She’s smart, but she’s also uncannily able to move from A to B to C. She gets things done and she is strong, she’s just good, she is just really good. She would be really good. But it’s a decision that only she can make, and I’m not going to try to jump the gun and if she decides not to do it, I’ll be happy too.”
