Early Sunday morning, a party that singer Chris Brown was throwing at the 1OAK Club on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood was disrupted when a shooting occurred, injuring three people. Among the wounded was hip-hop mogul Marion “Suge” Knight, 49, founder of Death Row Records.
Brown, 25, was throwing the party to celebrate the MTV Video Music Awards. A spokesman for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Jeff Gordon, told CNN that shots had been fired in the club at 1:30 AM, and that the victims, two men and one woman, would recover from their wounds.
Witnesses claim that the shots were targeted at Brown, who was apparently unhurt by the incident. He was reportedly seen angrily climbing up onto a bar moments after the shots were fired, while bouncers were screaming at the clubbers to get down. The party was attended by a multitude of celebrities, including singer Justin Bieber, rapper The Game, model Tyson Beckford and Apl de Ap of the Black Eyed Peas.
At 5:45 AM, Brown tweeted about the incident, saying, “It’s disappointing that we as a society can#t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bullsh*t!!!”

Brown is still on probation for beating Rihanna, who was his girlfriend at the time, on the eve of the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Meanwhile, Knight and the two other victims were brought to Cedars Sinai Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Knight was reportedly shot twice, injuring his stomach and arm, and walked out of the club after the incident, where he was spotted by a police officer and picked up by an ambulance.
