Jenny McCarthy was let go from her gig at The View recently for reasons that she says have to do with diversity, and the 18th season premiered this week with some new faces at the table. The popular talk show brought Barbara Walters in to give the new ladies her blessing and Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell both showed up looking slim and healthy, but McCarthy says she’s heard mixed reviews on the new show.

“They wanted to make sure the table was diverse. So they considered when Rosie [O’Donnell] was coming back it was too liberal and they wanted a conservative and they wanted a Latina, so they got Rosie Perez and their Elisabeth [Hasselbeck] if you will, so that way it was a balanced table with more diversity….I’ve been working, but I’ve heard people call me and say ‘I like it,’ ‘I don’t like it,’ ‘I like the set,’ ‘I don’t like the set,’ so I’ve been hearing mixed reviews,” she told Good Day New York.

McCarthy has been busy with work and with being a newlywed; she married Donnie Wahlberg on August 31 and has been making the transition to married life, and while they say they are ecstatic to finally be husband and wife, things haven’t been completely perfect.

“I’ve already lost the ring. We were staying in a hotel and you can’t have a wedding ring on… it’s a little hard to get romantic with diamonds on your hand. I removed it and put it on the room service table and they came and turned down the room and the ring was gone… But you know what though? If you’re gonna lose your wedding ring, you should lose it that way,” McCarthy said.
