There are a million ways to say, “I love you.” If you happen to be in love with Ozzy Osbourne, AKA The Prince of Darkness and Black Sabbath frontman, words perhaps aren’t enough to express real affection. Sharon Osbourne shocked viewers on her chit-chat show The Talk yesterday by sharing the story of how she slit her wrists as a way to show Ozzy how much she loved him.

Sharon was 27-years-old at the time and Ozzy was a married man. She confessed on air, “I’ve never discussed it out of embarrassment of how stupid I was at the time to do such a thing to myself,” said Sharon. “I was 27, I was going out with Ozzy at the time … and when we first got together, we would drink a lot. We had a session of partying … and it’s about four in the morning and he says to me, ‘How much do you really love me?’And I’m saying, ‘I’d do anything for you, anything, I absolutely adore you … I’d give my life for you.'”

Sharon then decided to show Ozzy that she wasn’t joking around. She used a steak knife and slashed her wrists multiple times. “Unfortunately for me. I kind of went too deep and it wouldn’t stop bleeding so I’m saying, ‘Dear, I think we’d better call an ambulance.'”

The injuries were in fact bad enough that she needed to see a doctor, who figured the cuts were an attempted suicide. The doctor had Sharon admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

However, it all seemed to work out. Ozzy and Sharon were married in 1982, had three children, and are still together today.

You can catch The Talk weekdays at 2 pm ET on CBS. Besides Osbourne, Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sheryl Underwood, and Aisha Tyler serve as hosts for the show.
