Sarah Goldberg has died at the age of 40.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago born actress passed away from natural causes. Sarah reportedly died in her sleep, computer still in her lap, at her family’s cabin.
“She went to sleep and didn’t wake up,” Judy Goldberg told the publication. The autopsy did not reveal the cause of Sarah’s death. However, her mother believes it was due to an underlying heart condition.
Goldberg, who also went by Sarah Danielle Madison, landed her first big role on Judging Amy in 2002. However, she is probably best known for her role as Sarah Glass Camden, a Rabi’s daughter and the love interest of Matt Camden (Barry Watson) on 7th Heaven.
When he heard the news of Sarah’s passing, Watson took to Twitter to acknowledge his former co-star and friend. “#RIP Sarah. I will miss you always. Love Ya! B,” he tweeted.

Goldberg, who graduated with a degree in biology from Amherst College, always wanted to be a doctor, but settled for playing a doctor on the hit series. “She would walk down the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, ‘You played the daughter’ of the rabbi,” Judy said of her daughter’s time spent on the show. “She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on 7th Heaven.”
