Elisabeth Hasselbeck reportedly underwent an undisclosed kind of surgery on Monday, and will be absent form Fox & Friends for several weeks. On Wednesday morning, Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle took Elisabeth’s place.

“In case you were wondering where Elisabeth is today and this week, well, she had some surgery yesterday and she’s going to be out for a couple of weeks,” co-host Steve Doocy said on Fox & Friends on Wednesday. “But she’s doing just fine, she’s on the mend.”

“But as you know if you watch the show, she is strong, she is tough and a better athlete than me. We heard from her last night and she said she is feeling good. So, in a short time, she’ll be back on the set,” Brian Kilmeade added.

Part of the mystery surrounding Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s surgery comes straight from something she said, as per a Fox News spokesperson.

“Elisabeth has asked for all to respect her wishes for privacy in regards to further details at this time,” the spokesperson said.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been absent from all forms of social media since October 10th, which is unlike the TV personality.

Hasselbeck spent almost 10 years as a cohost of The View, having left the show in July of 2013. She joined the cast of Fox & Friends, replacing Gretchen Carlson, just two months later.

No matter what Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s mysterious surgery on Tuesday may have been for–her fans, friends, and family members are no doubt wishing her a speedy and complete recovery. And given that she will only be absent from Fox & Friends for a ‘couple of weeks,’ it’s probably safe to assume that she isn’t also suffering from a serious mysterious illness as well.
