Don Imus is ready to sell his 2,400 acre ranch. The property is on the market for $32 million. Realtor Craig Huitifeldt stated that he publicly listed the property earlier this week.

The shock jock’s ranch is a well-known commodity. Imus developed the property into a cattle ranch for children with cancer. He said that he and his family have decided to sell the ranch in order to use the funds to support other charitable organizations. However, Imus hopes that whoever buys the ranch has altruistic goals in mind, “It’s a fabulous facility,” Imus said in a telephone interview. “We hope it lives on as something to benefit kids.”

Imus may be stationed in New York City, but the cowboy-wearing radio personality has his roots in the old west. He was born in Riverside, California, and was raised on a big cattle spread called the Willows, near Kingman, Arizona.

The Imus Ranch is located in the foothills about 50 miles northeast of Santa Fe. The radio host and his wife Deirdre bought the property in 1998. The ranch welcomes boys and girls, who want to try out the “Great American Cowboy Experience,” between the ages of 11-17, who have received treatment for childhood cancer or have a blood disease. The ranch has served over 2,000 children. Imus frequently broadcasts his radio program from the ranch during the summer months.

According to the property listing, the ranch features 28 bedrooms and 34 bathrooms. It also has several barns, sheds, and greenhouses. Additionally, the ranch is “environmentally pure,” free of pesticides and chemicals.

According to Imus’ website, in addition to providing a little fun for kids who have battled cancer, the Imus family also raises money for the Tomorrows Children Fund, the CJ Foundation for SIDS, America’s veterans, autism studies, and environmental concerns.

You can listen to Imus’ show, Imus in the Morning, nationwide and on Fox Business Network. It airs live Monday through Friday from 6-9 AM ET.
