Pippa Middleton, the duchess of Cambridge’s sister, recently shared her diet and exercise routines with Britain’s Waitrose Weekend magazine.

Middleton has been writing a monthly blog for the publication that is focused on overall health, mind, and well-being. Along with her own diet and exercise routines, Pippa shares recipes and other fitness tips with the help of a nutritionist and a personal trainer.

“I grew up with the belief that good health is about moderation in all things, so I’ll be celebrating healthy living through exercise, a balanced diet and a little of the naughty stuff sprinkled in — I’m talking chocolate, crisps and the occasional glass of wine,” Pippa said.

Middleton explains that she has never been one to try the fad diets and work out seven days a week. However, she believes in making healthy life choices.

“I’ve never done Dukan, attempted Atkins or exercised religiously seven days a week, but I do believe in making healthy choices — keeping refined carbs such as white bread and pasta to a minimum, and sticking to sensible portion sizes,” she explained.

Middleton often participates in and triathlons and duathlons, and recently took part in the 3,000-mile bicycle ride across the United States. She reveals that her weekly routine consists of three to five 30-minute workouts. She likes to switch it up between pilates, cycling, cross-country skiing, swimming, running, and even an occasional game of tennis.

“I know that if I fit in at least three, ideally five, sessions of exercise a week, be it a 30-minute run, an hour’s walk or a good game of tennis, it boosts my mood and energy, and helps me sleep and digest better. So I make it a priority, whatever the weather or my work schedule.”
