At the 2014 American Music Awards Sunday evening, actress and singer/songwriter Christina Milian turned heads as she performed a song called “Start a Fire” with rapper and sizzurp enthusiast Lil Wayne.
The duo, who are rumored to be dating, displayed their chemistry during their live performance, and Milian told E! News a few days beforehand, “Wayne is premiering his single and there’s a lot that falls on this because his album is about to come out, the world is going to hear his single for the first time.” Milian added, “I have the honor of being on the record, and actually brought the record to him which is really cool.”
Milian remarked, “I think with the two of us on that stage, there will be fireworks and it will be awesome. We have to really start a fire.”
Here is a rough copy of “Start a Fire”:
Milain’s primary Instagram photo features her alongside Wayne, which suggests their collaboration goes beyond musical ventures:
Milian, who had her first child, daughter Violet, with rapper The-Dream back in July of 2010, commented on her return to the spotlight. “It’s me, my family and basically our journey of life. We are a crazy fun Cuban family and me and my journey of coming back to my music career too,” Milain explained.
Milian, 33, was signed to Def Jam Records at the age of 19, and achieved Top 40 hit singles with the tracks “AM to PM” and “When You Look at Me.”
